Multiplace hyperbaric chambers for hospitals
Tech Plus designs, builds and installs multiplace hyperbaric chambers for hospitals: two or more compartments, up to 6 bar, and a lock that lets staff and patients move in and out while the main chamber stays at pressure. One partner from feasibility study to staff training.

A hospital hyperbaric chamber built around the care team
A multiplace hyperbaric chamber lets a hospital treat several patients in one session while keeping clinical staff within arm's reach. The main chamber is pressurised with air and patients breathe medical oxygen through masks or hoods. One or more locks connected to it let staff, patients and equipment pass in or out while the main chamber stays at pressure.
Tech Plus has been designing hyperbaric chambers since 1988. As an HBOT chamber manufacturer with our own design office in Bandol, in the south of France, we take each project from feasibility study to maintenance. Our medical chambers operate at up to 6 bar and are configured for each department: seats or stretcher positions, compartment layout, control console and medical gas supply.
The starting point is always how your unit actually works: the indications you treat, sessions per day, out-of-hours emergencies, the floor space available and the constraints of the building. That analysis sets the number of compartments and places, not a catalogue.
Two or more compartments
A main chamber with an entry lock, or separate chambers for scheduled sessions and emergencies.
Access during treatment
Staff, patients and equipment come through the lock without decompressing the main chamber.
Medical lock
A small pass-through lock for getting medicines and supplies into the chamber mid-session.

What a multiplace hyperbaric chamber brings to your unit
Capacity, emergencies, pressure range, ergonomics, support and training: what changes day to day.
Several patients per session
One compression for several patients, seated or on stretchers, with an inside attendant whenever their condition calls for one.
Emergencies without cancelling sessions
With a chamber set aside for emergencies, the unit can treat carbon monoxide poisoning or decompression illness, even at night, without cancelling scheduled sessions.
Up to 6 bar
A pressure range that covers routine hyperbaric oxygen sessions and leaves headroom for deeper recompression tables.
Designed with clinicians
Control console, communications, patient monitoring and movement around the room are worked out with your medical team.
One partner throughout
The design office that engineered your chamber also handles its maintenance and spare parts over the long term.
Trained staff
Operators, nurses and technicians learn to run the chamber and its emergency procedures at handover, then in refresher sessions.
Installing a multiplace hyperbaric chamber, from study to commissioning
A medical hyperbaric chamber is not simply placed in a room: it becomes part of the building. From day one, the feasibility study settles the footprint, floor loading, the delivery and lifting route (crane, removable façade or floor opening), room ventilation, compressed air and medical oxygen networks, and backup power supplies.
We work alongside the biomedical engineer, the estates team, the hyperbaric physician and the architect. The chamber is then manufactured, pressure-tested, delivered, lifted into place, connected and commissioned together with your team. If you also need emergency recompression outside the hospital, our transportable recompression chambers complement the fixed installation.
What the study covers
- Number of places and compartments for your caseload
- Room layout, floor loading and delivery access
- Compressed air, medical oxygen and exhaled-gas extraction
- Fire protection and chamber atmosphere control
- Control console, communications and patient monitoring
- Maintenance plan and spare parts over the long term

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy: indications and safety in a multiplace chamber
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) means breathing medical oxygen inside a chamber pressurised above atmospheric pressure. It is prescribed and supervised by a physician. The recognised indications are set by the medical societies: in Europe, the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM), whose 10th European Consensus Conference was held in Lille in 2016; in the United States, the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). Choosing indications is the medical team's call: Tech Plus supplies the equipment, not the treatment.
In a multiplace chamber, patients breathe oxygen through masks or hoods while the chamber itself stays on air. Its oxygen content is monitored and kept close to that of room air, typically between 19 and 23%, to keep the fire risk under control. Tech Plus also supplies patient breathing equipment: in 2020, it delivered around thirty oxygen hoods to the Sainte-Anne military teaching hospital (HIA Sainte-Anne) in Toulon.
Recognised indications (examples, ECHM and UHMS)
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Decompression illness and gas embolism
- Crush injuries with open fractures
- Radiation injury: osteoradionecrosis, radiation cystitis and proctitis
- Necrotising soft-tissue infections, refractory chronic osteomyelitis
- Sudden deafness, diabetic foot lesions, central retinal artery occlusion
